We
Celebrate More Than Seven Years!
We
have been getting to know each other for more
than seven years, and we have also created a more
formal relationship called the "MRCC Council"
with elder representatives from each session.
This Council will be the link with the sessions
and will help the four churches work together.
Our motto is: "we can do better together than
we can alone,"
and we have! We celebrate that we have done many
events together that we could not do as well on
our own. In fact, no one had done anything like
our Officer Training before we did it together!
And many have joined us for the last six
years! We also have the capabilities in a larger
parish to be creative with how we utilize the
clergy and staff in the future. And we shall!
The MRCC is the way for churches such as ours
to face the future without fear and with the reality
that we can be more together than we are
alone!

Trip Chuck and his group

in that part of the country. |

January
2007 Mission Trip to Mississippi
Chuck
Thomas has returned from his third Mission Trip to Gulfport,
Mississippi from January 19 to January 27, 2007. He
said that the group of 19 who went worked hard but also
had some time to relax and get to know the people they
were helping. These trips are great ways to do something
of value, get to know some great people and serve Jesus
Christ with your hands! Chuck is planning another trip
in late June 2007!

MRCC Mission Trip in June 2006
Our own Chuck Thomas led a MRCC Mission Team to Mississippi
from June 25 to July 3rd. Over 40 people went from several
churches in the area! They went to do some work, worship
together and meet some really great people in Gulfport,
and be Christ' hands and arms of compassion. God Bless
the MRCC Mission Team!!

The
MRCC
Council
was approved by the four sessions:
1.
To validate the concept of the MRCC. 2. To create a MRCC
Council with at least one currently serving elder representative
designated from each church. 3. The MRCC Council will have an
advisory role, it will not be a "super session." It has been approved
by the four sessions. The clergy will be ex-officio without vote.
4. To commit to a two year involvement with evaluation at the end of
2009. 5. Each church will contribute $300 for the year 2008.
6. The Council meetings will be open to any and all interested people.
7. Rev Gavin Pitt was elected Moderator for 2008.
